Here are the results of our vote on the proposed School Calendars for 2020/2021 and 2021/2022.

For the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school years, which school Calendar do you prefer?
Calendar B – 2020/2021 (Aug 10- June 10) 2021/2022 (Aug 9 – June 9) 153 votes (69.2%)
Calendar A – 2020/2021 (Aug 6 – June 4) 2021/2022 (Aug 5 – June 3) 68 votes (30.8%)

The Faculty Association met with the District recently to discuss details of the proposed calendars for the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school years. Some key points regarding the two calendars include:
Calendar A:
- Certificated Workday/Staff Development August 6/August 7 (2020-21) and August 5/August 6 (2021-22)
- School Begins August 10 (2020-21) and August 9 (2021-22)
- School Ends/Graduation/Staff Development June 4 (2020-21) and June 3 (2021-22)
- Full week for Thanksgiving Break
- No minimum day before Winter Break
- Staff Development/Staff Workday January 11/January 12 (2020-21) and January 10/January 11 (2021-22)
- 2020-21 and 2021-22: 88 school days First semester and 92 school days second semester
Calendar B:
- Certificated Workday/Staff Development August 10/August 11 (2020-21) and August 9/August 10 (2021-22)
- School Begins August 12 (2020-21) and August 11 (2021-22)
- School Ends/Graduation/Staff Development June 10 (2020-21) and June 9 (2021-22)
- Full week for Thanksgiving Break
- No minimum day before Winter Break
- Staff Development/Staff Workday January 12/January 13 (2020-21) and January 11/January 12 (2021-22)
- 2020-21 and 2021-22: 86 school days First semester and 94 school days second semester
- No School on January 11 and May 28 (2020-21) and January 10 and May 27 (2021-22)
The Faculty Association will conduct a poll, starting Wednesday morning, to get your input on which option you prefer. The poll will end on Friday at noon. This poll will be taken online with Simply Voting. Some of you will receive your ballot on your school email while others will receive your ballot on your personal email. If you don’t see the email, don’t forget to check your SPAM/Junk folders for an email from simply voting. If you do not receive an email from Simply Voting, please let me know as soon as possible so we can try to remedy the situation.
