As we approach the end of the 2022-2023 school year, I have a few topics to bring to your attention.
Faculty Association Social, Friday, June 2
We have reserved Me N Ed’s for a Faculty Association Social this Friday, June 2.
They have an outside eating area we have reserved from 4:10 to 6:00 PM.
The FA will pay for all the Pizza, Soda, Beer, and Wine for all members who attend.
Me N Ed’s is located at 560 E. Betteravia Rd, on the corner of Betteravia and College, near See’s Candy. See you there.
Faculty Association Elections
Thank you to everyone who ran for office in our recent FA Elections. I have attached an updated list of the committees for the 2023-2024 school year. These include the Executive Board, Site Reps, SDMC and SSC. In the Fall we will try to fill the vacant positions with members who received write-in votes.
In Lieu Payout – June 2023
The District and the Faculty Association have signed an MOU to continue our current In-Lieu policy through June 2024. I have attached the MOU for the 2023-2024 school year.
If you want to receive a June 2023 payout for your In-Lieus, you will need to check your school email during the week of June 12 and return the document to the district by June 19. For people retiring or leaving the District, I have been told that you will be able to access your school email until June 30, 2023. If you would prefer not to take a chance on the school email working, reach out to Heather Fiscus at the District Office and give her an email where you can be reached.

School Calendar 2023-2024

Due to Speaker availability, the day of the District Symposium has been moved to Wednesday, August 9 and the Teacher Workday has been moved to August 7.
2023-2024 Certificated Salary Schedule
Negotiations will start in August for a salary increase for the 2023-2024 school year. Only Article 2 will be open for negotiations for the 2023-2024 school year. When we start school in August 2023, we will continue with the 2022-2023 salary schedule until an agreement can be reached.
Daily Rate of Pay / Hourly Rate of Pay
I have received several questions about daily rate of pay and hourly rate of pay. Both the Daily and Hourly calculations depend on where you are on the Salary schedule. We work 185 days each school year and 7.25 hours per day.
So, to calculate your daily rate of pay, divide your annual salary by 185 days.
(Example: $119,195 / 185 = $644.30 per day)
To calculate your hourly rate of pay, divide your answer (daily rate) by 7.25 hours.
(Example: $644.30 / 7.25 = $88.87 per hour)
Extra Professional Development days
We will once again be paid, our daily rate, for two additional Professional Development days for the 2023-2024 school year. These two days are August 7, 2023, and January 8, 2024. You cannot take a sick day on these days, and you will only be paid if you attend. I believe that the Sites will require us to sign in on these days to be sure that we receive our payment.
